Here are a few of the landscapes I did, most are observational from real life and photos, one is imagined, you can probably guess which because the perspective is a little skewy. A lot of it was just experimenting with drawing styles, which was fun.
This one just above is of Dark Hedges in Ireland, where I have never been, but I saw a postcard depicting it on my Aunties notice board and fell in love with it. My picture really does not give it justice, but it looks magical.
Here's just a couple of sketches of Helena, and below a rough shaping out of Ronan's re-design. Trying to re-vamp a lot of my character's designs because they were all getting very samey.
Some character designs of all but Adana, Issa and Bobo from my main project. I did sketches of a similar ilk of the above three but I've already re-designed their faces since then so I'll upload them another time.
This is (obviously) Viv and a janitor lady who becomes key to the story before they meet Viv. I haven't decided upon her name yet, but maybe Eileen (after Dexy's brilliant song).
Don't think I've introduced these two yet, meet Calvin (the owner of the fairground that Issa and his family work at) and his grandson Gilbert, who happens to be one of Issa's close friends and a similar age.
And this is the twin's dog, a bull-terrier named Clegg (after the great Johnny Clegg), who is their loyal protector and sort of makes the twins duo a solid trio, they wouldn't be without him.
And finally this is another Hirschfeld-inspired piece I did of Issa and co. It took me about 10 hours in the end because I had to re-design Viv several times until she looked right. Sorry about the poor image quality, had to photograph it because it's A3 size.
Fairly self-explanatory picture, I hope, although I think I may try scanning it in and joining it together because the image quality really is awful.
Thank you for reading!
